History
Habitat for Humanity of Navarro County, Inc. began with an informational meeting November 3, 2005.
With the excitement of the community, Navarro County was able to begin the process of forming an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity, Inc. In January 2006 a Board of Directors was established, and soon after we were able to file with the State of Texas to become Habitat for Humanity of Navarro County, Inc. The main focus over the following months was the completion and submission of our application to become an affiliate. It was with great pride and joy we were able the announce that Habitat for Humanity of Navarro County, Inc. became an affiliate on May 1, 2006! The Board of Directors and other members had a great deal of momentum built up, and with the help of the City of Corsicana we were able to break ground for our first home on June 3, 2006. Through the hard work of volunteers and committee members our first home was dedicated on March 24, 2007, and the first partner family was given keys to their new home. Habitat strives to continue serving families of Navarro County, both through the opportunities to serve and to be served.
As of August 2020, Habitat for Humanity of Navarro County has completed 15 homes. With continued support from our community, we have been able one home built per year of our affiliation with Habitat for Humanity International.
